Kingston, Pa. – John Dawe, President of the Dawe Consulting Group, achieved the Certified Fund Raising Executive accreditation from CFRE International in July. There are approximately 5,400 fundraising professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation.

Mr. Dawe is Chapter President of the 78 member Northeastern Pennsylvania chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.  Dawe is the sixth to hold the CFRE credential.  Dawe sits on the International Communications and Marketing Committee for AFP International.

Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, professional achievements and commitment to service to not-for-profit organizations.

Candidates must complete a five-year qualification process and pass a written examination testing their knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive.

According to CFRE International, “The certification process was developed as a way to identify for the public and employers those individuals who possess the knowledge, skills and commitment to perform fundraising duties in an effective, conscientious, ethical and professional manner. It adds to professional credibility as a fundraiser and sets CFREs apart from peers.”

Mr. Dawe has served as a consultant to numerous nonprofit organizations throughout the Northeastern Pennsylvania region including the Luzerne Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, NEPA Rainbow Alliance, Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber, Arc of Luzerne County, Leadership Wilkes-Barre, Back Mountain Recreation, and the Lyric Consort.
